In the name of religion

2014, Central African Republic. Christian anti Balaka militias and Muslim Seleka factions attacked civilians. Fighters justified killings as defence of Christian or Muslim communities, turning political collapse into religiously framed communal warfare.

Fact

In Hindu belief, karma describes the idea that every action, intention, and thought produces consequences, meaning that present circumstances are linked to past behaviour and future experiences will be shaped by what a person does now.

Ignorant but not stupid

The ignorant believers are not stupid. They are conditioned. They are taught that understanding is optional and obedience is essential. This conditioning is most effective when reinforced socially, emotionally, and morally. Leaving belief then feels like betrayal rather than correction. Religion does not collapse when people ask hard questions. It collapses when they read the answers for themselves. The continued survival of belief is therefore not a mystery. It is the predictable result of a system that thrives on partial knowledge, controlled interpretation, and the quiet fear that full understanding might cost too much.

Quote of the day

“Gods are fragile things, they may be killed by a whiff of science or a dose of common sense.” Chapman Cohen.

Ask the right question

Religious Crooks

David Berg founded the Children of God movement, later called The Family International, teaching that members should surrender money and autonomy, with former followers describing systematic financial, sexual, and psychological exploitation under religious justification. For more information, google the name. Almost all of the crooks appearing in this section have their own wikipedia page. Religion is supposed to bring morality but it also seem to bring a lot of crooks who take advantage of people.
