Just like humans

Gods do not behave like forces of nature, they behave like people. They get angry, feel offended, demand loyalty, reward obedience, punish disobedience, forgive selectively, and hold grudges for generations while loving, hating, envying, threatening, and negotiating in ways that reveal their origin. This resemblance is not subtle but the clearest clue available to understanding where such beings come from. A mind responsible for the universe would not share the emotional fragility of a primate, yet gods consistently do because humans did not model gods on reality but on themselves.

Quote of the day

“Properly read, the Bible is the most potent force for atheism ever conceived.” Isaac Asimov.
