Weird and Religious
There are reports in Islamic tradition that the Prophet’s night journey involved travelling from Mecca to Jerusalem and then ascending through multiple heavens in a single night, meeting earlier prophets along the way and seeing paradise and hell. The journey is presented as both physical and supernatural.

In the name of religion
2002, Gujarat in India. After a train fire, riots and organised attacks killed many people, mostly Muslims, alongside arson and assaults. Participants justified violence as retaliation and protection of Hindu society, invoking religion, honour, and claims of historic grievance.

In Islam, giving to charity, known as zakat, is an obligation, and Islam sets this as a means of supporting the poor and purifying wealth.
Sacred texts
If scripture books were handed in as the work of an all-knowing being, they would not be praised. They would be returned with red ink. Not because they fail to inspire, but because they fail to meet the most basic standards of truth, consistency, and morality. Divine branding does not transform bad fiction into revelation. It only protects it from the criticism it cannot survive.

Valentina de Andrade led a Brazilian UFO religion called Lineamentum, mixing esoteric belief with hierarchical control, later convicted in a case involving deaths of children, with the group described as secretive and manipulative.
