Weird and Religious
In ancient Egypt, some gods were shown with animal heads because qualities of animals were thought to reflect divine traits. A falcon head suggested sharp sight and power, while a jackal head linked a god with cemeteries and the desert. The image was not symbolic art in the modern sense but a literal way of showing a god’s nature.

In the name of religion
2005 to 2014, northern Nigeria. Boko Haram carried out bombings, massacres, and mass kidnappings, including schoolgirls. Fact

On a winged horse
Noah's Ark and the Great Flood are Christianity's impossible story. The equivalent in Islam is the story of the Prophet Muhammad’s night journey and ascension, in which he is said to have travelled from Mecca to Jerusalem and then ascended through the heavens on a winged horse-like creature, an account that was historically treated as literal fact. Muhammad did not dream or imagine; he travelled physically through space and layers of heaven in a single night. The claim is not merely unsupported but incoherent. A human body travelling vast distances instantaneously, ascending through physical and metaphysical realms, riding a mythical creature that leaves no trace and violates every known constraint of biology and physics is not profound. No mechanism is offered and no evidence exists. The only requirement is belief.
Quote of the day
“Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people.” Karl Marx.
