Weird and Religious
Some Islamic teachings describe paradise as containing rivers not only of water but also of milk, honey, and wine that does not intoxicate. The afterlife environment is portrayed with physical pleasures that do not behave according to normal earthly rules.

In the name of religion
1993, Mumbai in India. Muslim perpetrators from criminal networks influenced by Islamist narratives carried out coordinated bombings killing hundreds. The attacks were justified by organisers as revenge for anti Muslim riots and as defence of Muslim honour, blending crime, politics, and religious grievance.
Fact
In Hinduism, bhakti is a major path centred on devotion to a chosen deity, involving prayer, singing, ritual acts, and a personal emotional connection with the divine.
Absolute answers
What made religion powerful was not that it explained the world well but that it explained the world completely, leaving no gaps and offering no honest admission of ignorance. Everything had a cause and a purpose. Science, by contrast, begins with uncertainty and advances cautiously through observation and correction, openly admitting when it does not know. That honesty feels weak to a brain accustomed to absolute answers, for religion trained humanity to equate confidence with truth, a habit that remains difficult to break even in the presence of knowledge.
Quote of the day
“With or without religion, good people can behave well and bad people can do evil, but for good people to do evil, that takes religion.” Steven Weinberg.
