In the name of religion

1996, Afghanistan, including Kabul. The Taliban seized power and imposed severe punishments, public executions, and strict social rules. They justified coercion and violence as enforcing Sharia, purifying society, and restoring Islamic order after chaos, labelling opponents as un-Islamic or corrupt.

Fact

In Islam, prayer is performed five times a day, and Islam teaches regular structured worship facing the direction of Mecca.

Sacred flaws

Contradictions are everywhere. Events are retold differently. Laws change without explanation. God’s character shifts from merciful to murderous depending on context. Instructions conflict. Promises fail. Prophecies are retrofitted. Apologists call this depth or mystery. In any other book, it would be called poor editing. When a text claims perfection, inconsistency is not a minor flaw. It is fatal.

That was just a tiny case in a vast ocean of religious crooks.
