Weird and Religious
In parts of ancient China, early dynasties practised human sacrifice during royal burials. Servants, guards, or prisoners were killed to accompany a ruler into the afterlife. The dead king was expected to continue ruling in another realm and needed a court there as well.

In the name of religion
2014, Sinjar region in Iraq. Islamic State forces attacked Yazidi communities, killing men and enslaving women and children. The group justified actions through extremist doctrine labelling Yazidis as unbelievers, claiming religious permission for enslavement, forced conversion, and property seizure within a self declared caliphate.
Fact
In the Baháʼí Faith, equality of men and women is taught, and the Baháʼí Faith treats this as a necessary condition for social progress.
Science destroys creation
In the conflict between science and religion, creation remains the most obvious fault line. In the Book of Genesis in the Bible, the universe is described as being created in six days, with Earth forming before the Sun and stars, plants appearing before the Sun that supposedly sustains them, and humans emerging in their current form at the end of the process. This is not vague metaphor but a sequence, and every part of it is wrong. Astronomy shows that the Sun predates Earth, geology shows that Earth is billions of years old rather than thousands, and biology shows that life evolved gradually over immense time rather than appearing instantly by command.

Wayne Bent, also known as Michael Travesser, led a small apocalyptic Christian sect, claimed prophetic authority, and exercised strict control over followers’ lives and resources, later convicted on charges involving abuse within the group.
