In the name of religion

Fact

In Christianity, spiritual gifts are recognised, and Christianity teaches that different abilities such as teaching, helping, or leadership are given for the benefit of the community.

Science contradicts religion

Science did not merely offer an alternative to religion, for in many cases it collided with it directly and proved it to be factually wrong. This distinction is important because religion likes to present itself as a poetic or symbolic precursor to science, gently replaced by better explanations, yet the historical record does not support that idea. On central claims about the origin of the universe, life, humanity, disease, and natural events, science does not refine religion. It contradicts it clearly, repeatedly, and decisively.

Quote of the day

“Reason is the greatest enemy that faith has.” Martin Luther.
