In the name of religion

Adapting religion

Across centuries, religion displayed remarkable adaptability. When political orders shifted, gods shifted with them. When empires collapsed, religions rebranded. When science revealed natural causes, religion retreated into metaphor and symbolism. Its core claims changed shape to survive every intellectual and cultural transformation, and this flexibility has often been mistaken for depth. In reality, it marks a system designed for survival rather than accuracy, for truth does not require adaptation to power, but fiction does.
